Link building is a technique used to promote a company's website with several high page rank sites with increase in the number of websites on the World Wide Web, there has been a surge in the emergence of companies offering the link building service. This is one of the most favored services in terms of search engine optimization (SEO) of a website. This is simply because the more the number of links a website has on the Internet of the more traffic the site will receive. Here are some of the benefits that websites that opt to use this technique enjoy online.

Link building service is pre-designated to increase website's rankings on major search engines like Google. Therefore, Link building is an integral part for any website owner who intends to accelerate the growth of his/her website within a short period of time. One might wonder though, how does high rankings on major search engines help a website. As is a tradition in any business, the more the number of potential customers visiting a company or business, the higher the potential of a business's ability to close sales and win business deals. A highly ranked website on the search engines is bound to receive a high traffic of visitors hence increased sales or income earnings from advertisements.

The process of link building opens new avenues for online business owners to advertise their businesses on other websites with related web content. There are quite a number of blog posts that contain blog reviews on some of the best Search Engine Optimization (SEO) service providers. In fact, link building pundits advise that outsourcing SEO services to an SEO service provider is the best way of getting the work done within no time and without too much hassle. Although there are several ways of doing link building for your online business or website one of the best options is by creating inbound links.

Link Building is one of the most viable online advertising techniques that help greatly in optimum marketing of the brand along with the websites. A link building service will help in creating brand awareness on the Internet. Even if visitors do not buy your services or products, clicking on them or being directed to your website from other sites is enough advertisement already; it is a credible way of creating potential customers. Moreover, Dmoz listing is one of the cheapest forms of advertising campaigns that any online business should consider. Tips To Maximize the Freshness of Your Content

f you want to put your blog on top of research the freshness of content is a factor not to be neglected. If you want to know how to boost the freshness of your content follow the guide!

This is the type of content is most impacted by the notion of freshness:

  • Recent news: Whatever the topic, we always look for the most relevant information and the most recent news. This means that Google highlights the content is published more recently even if not from a reference site.
  • Seasonal or biannual events: It may be election or Roland Garros events that occur on specified dates in advance. With Caffeine, when someone does a search for this type of event Google highlights the most recent pages.
  • Ancient but relevant content: Some content types are still relevant despite out of their age. Cooking recipes or historical narratives, for example, keep their interest even if they were published long ago. But you should know that Google still takes into account the notion of freshness to these types of content.
how to optimize a website by publishing new content and improve its freshness.
Tip: Publish new pages
A blog that publishes a new page every day of the week will be better referenced a blog which is updated once a month. However, a high frequency of publication has its advantages and disadvantages. The main advantages are:

  • Your content will be indexed more often: regularly and frequently updated content leads search engine robots to visit more often. If you publish a new page monthly robots will visit your site a few times a month, so if you post new content at least once a week they will visit your site several times a week or daily.
  • You will increase your legitimacy: If you add new content regularly search engine robots will consider that your content is relevant and it will give you the authority in your field. Other elements that will help you become a benchmark are quality links that point to your site and social network signals.
  • You will increase your traffic: All studies show that a large content update increases the attendance of a site.
The disadvantage of a high frequency of publication is that it is difficult to publish quality content consistently. However, if you publish on a weekly or monthly basis, it will be easier to publish high-quality content but traffic to your site will not be boosted.
If you apply the following tips to optimize a website becomes a matter of organization and scheduling:
  • Invite other authors: Some websites publish daily high quality articles by using eexternal authors.
  • Make a schedule of your publications: If you do not want to use other authors, it will motivate you to write your own articles. Establish a schedule for your upcoming publications; it will require you to work with regularity.
  • Dig your head: To improve quality you need to enrich your publications new and original ideas. To optimize a website has its maximum take a day or two a week to look for original ideas for your publications.
  • Write a series of articles: Choose a theme and write an article on this subject per day for a month. At the end of the month you will have achieved a true record.

Search Engine Optimization: a New Approach to Internet Marketing

To many business owners, even those who spend most of their lives online, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) seems like a strange phrase. It can be a concept that they plan to have but have yet to implement. On the other hand, those who have a web presence as part of their business strategy know the effectiveness of SEO. The most successful ones are those who learned to outsource SEO, allowing them to focus on their core business while leaving their Internet presence to the experts.
The new economy and SEO

Before the Internet became an integral part of human life, all a business needed to do was get enough airtime and fight for choice spots on newspapers. Maybe a billboard or two would help, or even a special event to grab a customer's attention.
With the Internet's level of perception today, more and more businesses are finding it more important to maintain a presence in the web. Entire marketing and public relations plans call for Internet-based activities such as a website and a Facebook account.
When you want to be visible on the Internet, you are talking about the search engines, such as Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft's Bing. Nowadays, if a person needs to find something on the Internet, one of very first places they go to is a search engine.

Getting expert help

SEO outsourcing comes into this picture in the same way advertising companies did for traditional media such as television, radio, and newspapers. If you are going to use a tool, and none of your staff is knowledgeable or trained to use it, it is advisable to get help from the experts.
It can be anything from handicrafts to large-scale industrial manufacturing. You may mass produce toys or perfumes and sell it to the public. You could be good or even one of the best, in your field. What you need though, is a thorough knowledge of how search engines and Internet marketing works.

For instance, when people look for custom-made products over the Internet, when they type that in a search engine, will they find yours in the first page? Most web surfers do not want to spend hours looking through every single website and will go for the first ones they see. Besides, they think that if Google or Yahoo! put this website on top, it must be the most helpful.

When you outsource SEO, you put your Internet presence in the hands of people who know how this new approach works. An SEO outsourcing group with a proven track record can significantly increase the traffic to your website. With more people knowing who you are and what you do, you will see a significant rise in your sales. In addition, you do not have to train any of your staff to do it. This can allow you to focus your entire work force in doing what you do best, which is your business.

Due to the recession that is experiencing by the world market right now, one of the best strategies that many companies are going to employ is to search for low cost SEO services for their marketing campaign. While low cost is always preferential, especially when there is huge competition. We have to watch our budget also. What to Sell Online to Make Money

What to sell online to make money is a pretty common question I get asked when discussing online business opportunities with people wanting to leave the rat race and start building an alternative income solution working from the comfort of their home. The answer is easy to give, but most people find it rather difficult to grasp and implement. Here is the short version: first and foremost discover what a large number of people really want. Then create or source a product that specifically satisfies that demand. Finally package it in an attractive offer and bring it to the marketplace.

Unfortunately this process seems to be counterintuitive for many. Generally they come up with brilliant ideas for products they believe everyone would and should buy. They invest large amounts of time and money on what they believe rather than what people really want and keep on failing disastrously over and over again. They really are the quintessential impression of Einstein's definition of insanity, in his own words they "Keep on doing the same thing and expect different results".

So what should you sell online to make money? In my experience, rather than rediscover the wheel or rely on guesswork, the best approach is to find out what other online businesses are already successfully selling and do what they do if you have the time and resources to produce products of the same specifications and quality. Alternatively, just find the way to source the same product and market it in exactly the same way as those successful online businesses.

It may sound unethical, but it is exactly what everyone already does, especially when selling digital products online. Think information products as an example. How many eBooks on "how to lose weight" are there in the market already? Literally thousands; they may be slightly different from one another, but they all speak to the same huge crowd of hungry buyers.

The approach I usually recommend, especially to beginners with little online marketing knowledge and experience is, to buy into an already successful online franchise business based on digital training and information products to sell online and start making money. Everyone knows that knowledge is power and in today's world accessing relevant information, learning new and keeping previously acquired skills current is extremely important and in high demand.

Add a proven marketing system with outstanding products already sourced and ready to sell and you have a winner. Even better if the franchise business is based on a one time purchase figure and does not charge recurring fees. And what if the franchise reseller rights were also included and you could immediately become the "franchisor" rather than just be a franchisee? If you do not know what a "franchisor" is or does here is an excerpt from the Business Dictionary: "The franchisor gives the right to the franchisee to run the franchise, in return for an agreed-upon fee".

Then you would have not just a product, but a complete, proven and very attractive business opportunity to sell online to a huge crowd of buyers constantly looking for one. You would give them what they want, brilliantly solve their problem, become their hero and make lots of money in the process.

Important Knowledge in the Internet and New Technology

Working in the Internet or new technology industries (that in many cases go along) demands a lot of efforts and knowledge. In general, when say 'Internet' we actually need to precise the exact sub-category we are talking about: website creation and development, website design, social media, e-commerce...

If your career is linked to Web or IT company you need to be aware of everything happening around your company, even not directly impacting it. All topics are related to each other on the web. And success in a job is always equal to your knowledge and experience.
While experience comes with time, you need to work on your knowledge by yourself.
Even if you're working in a company with a specific product, e.g. website selling mobile phones online, you need to know so much more not directly related to your product and job, like:

• how to be ranked by search engines to come up on the first page of results;
• how to promote your website on social media website;
• what new trends are there is tablet market - almost mobile phone rival;
• how to develop an app for iPhone, Android and Microsoft Mobile for your online shop;
• what e-payment system to choose and why;
• and so on...
On top of that the industry itself is evolving so quickly that we sometimes cannot follow it.

Main topics covered by Internet and Tech magazines

To have an idea of what you need to know to succeed in your career in IT world, let us look at the main topics covered by Techcrunch or Mashable: the biggest website about Internet and technology:

• Social Media: Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube
• Mobile and mobile apps: App Store, Google Play; Microsoft Store
• Gadgets and innovations
• Startups
• E-commerce: Amazon, eBay,
• Payment systems: PayPal, Square, Amazon Wallet, Google Wallet
• Dev & Design: HTML5, Use Experience, etc.
• Blogging & Entrepreneurship
• Software
• Storage
• Security

This list could go on by adding more and more new information and new topics once break-through products are launched as they usually change the whole understanding of how we use the web.

What search engines can tell us about Web and High Tech

It is also interesting to see that all these topics are very popular, some more, some less, throughout time. Here is statistics of Google Trends for some search queries from 2004 until present time:
Another interesting finding is related to Google AdWords. After entering only 3 search queries: 'web', 'internet' and 'new technology' - you can get the following keyword suggestions:

• gadgets
• webdesign
• website
• information technology
• computer technology
• innovative technology
• internet games
• mobile internet
• web hosting
• new trends
• IT news

It clearly shows how broad is this topic. Way to go for us to learn them to obtain all necessary information about Internet and new technology.

Additional areas of expertise

In addition to the topics highlighted above, you need to be aware of other important skills to have for your career in IT and Internet, such as:

• Content Management. This area of expertise is related to Website Development, but also Social Media and PR.

• Project Management. The ability to manage projects and motivate teams is essential in the Internet and IT industry as all launching products are in fact new projects inside an organisation. The most difficult part is usually that the teams are spread all over the world.

• Marketing. This is almost equal to Social Media these days - promotion of products through Internet. This area related to understanding of your Customers & Users, ability to attract and keep them.

How new trends in Web and Tech can affect your work

You cannot just specify in one narrow area if you want to succeed and advance in your career. You should always be aware of what is going on in the market, what new products are launching and how it all can affect your work.

Let's look at how mobile revolution affects our work. As a content manager I've faced a necessity to find out more about development of mobile devices as it impacted my work directly. Who would know in the first place? I had to develop skills in accordance with this new global change: going mobile. It meant that I had to adapt my usual content to small screens, come up with shorter terms, be able to send a clear message in just a few lines.

As a designer you'll need to be able to squeeze the page depending on the device used and be sure it looks nice and professional. As a developer you'll have to find ways to reduce the page load time.
In case of social media development as a customer service agent you need to know new channels users can use to contact you and be proactive in those channels, like Facebook page.
In order to be successful we need to be proactive and react fast to the changes the Internet and new technology prepare for us. But due to the fact how fast these changes are implemented it may be particularly difficult to foresee them.

It is not that you need to know some specific information about some specific product. You just need to know how the world of web is developing. For example, how was the Wikipedia created, or who is Anonymous and what he is doing. These types of 'companies' can affect even some non-online institutions, like governmental affairs. They can also give you some insights on how certain things may be done: for example, the fact that the greatest encyclopedia has been created by people themselves without any material motivators, like salary or worldwide recognition.

And our success in Internet and tech area depends on our knowledge about this market.

It can be compared to financial analysts: any event in the world in general can massively affect stock prices.

Generation of new experts

This being said, once we enter into the world of the Internet and High Technology we need to be prepared and alarmed about what is happening in the industry. It may help us not only be up-to-date with the news, but also excel our competitors by following the innovations first and create new products by ourselves combining our knowledge in different areas.

The Ever Changing Interwebs in 2013

Two thousand and twelve was an interesting one for the world wide web and social media. Facebook hit half a billion monthly users, Twitter saw half a billion tweets in a single day, YouTube had 800 million unique visits each month with over 4 billion hours of video being watched. LinkedIn had a new user signup every second, Google+ had 5 billion +1's in a day and 3 million new blogs were published on a monthly basis.

In March, Kony 2012 took off, Instagram was purchased by Facebook, Facebook and the NASDAQ became friends, Obama's "4 more years." tweet was re-tweeted almost a million times. Whitney Houston's death broke on Twitter 15 minutes after it was confirmed and 42 minutes before The Associated Press confirmed it.

As such, here's some predictions as to what to watch out for in 2013 in terms of the world wide web. While some of the points being made here are already being utilized, they will become more main stream.

Currently, Facebook is mainly a free environment, and it will continue to be in 2013 but the new thing for 2013 is it will become more common for individuals to purchase items off Facebook. The social network site will definitely be pimping out it's e-commerce options in 2013 by selling things like products to TV episodes. Social Marketing will become more annoying then anything. The complaints about commercialization of your Friends feed has already started.

Facebook will announce their own new browser or buy one. If they build their own, I'll go out on a limb to say it'll flop, not because I don't believe in this great company, but because of the real browser wars.

Customer comments will continue to play a major role in consumer spending and more and more, this will be promoted by the company selling the product such as a restaurant. Similar to today how FutureShop has customer comments on products, it'll be more common for you to see the comments with restaurants.

In fact, comments in 2013 will be a major change. Anonymous online commenting will slowly start to disappear with more organizations switching to a third party verification software, such as Facebook.

The mobility wars definitely aren't anywhere near from over. With iPhones one of the most popular devices in the world, I think one of the smaller players will make the leap into first place leaving Blackberry & iPhone behind, even with Apple releasing 2 new iPhones in 2013. After all, the pattern is 2 years in the number 1 position. That being said, I've heard all kinds of hype in regards to Blackberry's new operating system, Blackberry 10.

Blackberry is in a risky position. While I am self-inclined to say they'll pull out just fine, past performances of hyped products simply didn't deliver. Although the Blackberry 10 is making some inroads, the question is, can they attract users back? And should I be investing in their stock, right now?

Google will continue to evolve with the expansion of street view taking users from on the street right into retailers. You will be able to check out a store's shop without actually visiting it.
Google Authors will be a big thing in 2013. While this one is a bit risky in terms of success, I think news outlets will embrace it. If not only for the SEO value but the credibility of journalists will certainly go up further.

Pinterest will no longer just be about your interest, you'll be able to purchase those interesting things right from the website. IPO talk will be more common towards the end of the year, if Pinterest is not purchased by one of the bigger players.

Google will take it a step further their with enforcing their cardinal rule, "content is king". This will add new rules to their search engine to prevent web developers from tricking the Google Bot which some have been utilizing as a search engine optimization (SEO) trick.

Geolocation will become a larger player then it currently is. This will make it easier for companies to reach out to potential customers walking by on the sidewalk. New GeoLocation services will, hopefully, explode. This is another risky one but I'll put it out there.

Responsive design for websites will be the new thing for websites (the new super duper morriscode.ca website has it). Responsive Design is basically an answer to mobile websites. It allows you to reformat your site per the users screen resolution. As with a lot of things lately, it's not so much a new thing, but a new way. We've been using it on our LensMakeAPicture.com website with javascript.

John Morris is founder and owner of morriscode. morriscode is an Island leading web development firm based in Charlottetown that encourages organizations to utilize multiple forms of technology to enhance their efficiency through online activities.

Occasionally John writes on his blog. When not working on social media strategies or building new websites, this entrepreneur can be found out adventuring around PEI's backwoods capturing the beauty of our Island.

Work From Home Opportunities For Extra Income

Write Articles

There are so many work from home opportunities available on the Internet and writing articles is one of the best income opportunities for those with average to excellent writing skills. Webmasters and business owners usually need content for their websites and articles for SEO purposes. The payment for a 500-word article depends on your level of writing skill and how much you charge clients. While some earn $3-5 a piece, others earn up to $25.

Design Graphics

If you have the talent to design banners, headers, logos and other graphics, you can find a lot of work from online job websites like oDesk, eLance, Guru, and the like. You can also join contests on websites like 99Designs. You can earn a staggering $300-1000 for a winning design. If clients really love your work, they will keep asking you for more.

Take Calls

Call center agents can earn money straight from home answering calls or calling prospective business clients. Telemarketers may be shunned by a lot of people, but the pay for one sale alone really does pay off. If you have the talent to converse with multiple people in a day and love to help them with issue they have or love to sell them products or services, then being a call center agent is not such a bad idea.

Be A Virtual Assistant

The work of a virtual assistant varies depending on the work of the client who hires him or her. It can involve writing letters, responding to emails, marketing, taking phone calls, and the like. Sometimes, the work involves tasks similar to office secretaries. Pay is usually hourly or on a salary basis.

Build Websites

You can build websites for clients who pay a lot of money or you can create your own money-making sites. Internet marketing is one of the hottest work at home opportunities today. You can make money selling other people's products or sell your own if you have an excellent eBook or product line to sell. These 5 work from home opportunities are only some of the most common, but there are other types of jobs online that you can exploit.

The internet is a vast field of possibility and the more seeds that you sow, the more likely that you are to get a return come harvest time. While you may be tempted to toss caution to the wind, resign your position at your day job and invest everything that you own into the current and happening affiliate marketing opportunity, don't. Your started position should be confident, calm and above all, well-researched.

Dave Kolar owns http://www.BusinessFreedom.biz where popular home business ideas and opportunities are tested rigorously to find out what works and what doesn't.

Amazon Takes On Social Media

Many top brands are stepping up their involvement in social media. The advertising opportunities provided by platforms like Twitter and Facebook are unbeatable! The ability to spread the name of your company in this way will allow you to gain a much larger client basis and inform currant customers about new opportunities they have. That is just one reason to be more aggressive with this new outlet. Through different initiatives thought of by their new director of marketing, John Yurcisin, they are reaching more possible customers than ever before!

The major aspect of social media that Yurcisin is focusing on is a new Social Games Group. He hopes that this group will be able to relate to more different types of people. Social gaming is kind of a new frontier for the company. This new games group is their first foray into the world of gaming media and it is growing very quickly! The company is plastering posters all over the Seattle area about this group and it is definitely having an effect!

Their main competition with regard to this social gaming group is a group called Zynga. Zynga is currently the top social gaming network and has been for quite some time. No other gaming group has been able to even think about competing with Zynga until now. They have hired some top game designers in order to reach their goal of beating this company and acquiring more customers. They are still in the search for more talent, however, as their goal is to keep expanding and diversifying this group.

Besides social gaming, they are utilizing both Facebook and Twitter in ways that differ from most companies. The Kindle now allows the reader to share notes or passages with their friends and followers. This seems like an amazing idea, both for Amazon and for Kindle owners, but there is one drawback. It only works to automatically share all of your passages with all of your contacts. This bug will hopefully be worked out soon because this feature would be a great advantage for the company.

The companies specialty is cross-selling. This is also where they make the most money. Cross-selling is when a prospective customer is looking at an item and at the bottom of the screen, there is a list of things that other customers bought who also looked at that item. Facebook allows them to do this through their website rather than their own website. They continue to take full advantage of the social media outlets that are provided to businesses. This gives them a major advantage in today's competitive market.

How Can Anyone Make Money Online?

I just wanted to go over a topic that I think about when I start looking into online ventures and that is can anyone make money online? So far the only restriction I have found is that you must be 18 years old.

Now that is not to say that all you need is to be 18 to make money online. That is just saying that I have only been asked if I was 18 and that I must be 18 to participate in the program or promotions what have you on that page.

So can anyone make money online if they are over 18?

My back ground is a good place to start off. I am 30. I am a single mother of a seven year old hand full to say the least. I have over 12 years experience in Restaurants. My main focus over the years has been training and development. None of which has been web focused or had to do with any type of marketing. It has all been operational classroom or follow training at a specific location or store. As of today I have made money online.

I decided on Dec 20, 2012 that I was sick and tired of working my butt off at these restaurants. I was fighting for good sections and good shifts. I decided that I was worth a lot more than what I had been given after all the help I had given to the growth of the staffs I have been a part of.
That's when I thought to myself, "Why the hell am I begging to make money in an establishment I am helping to make money for??" I felt the quality of service had gone up meaning that people who came in were more likely to have a good experience, meaning more people, meaning more money for the company.

Where can you start?

The first thing anyone thinking of making money online needs to do is research. I am guessing that is what you are doing now seeing as how you had to of typed something like "can anyone make money online" to have gotten a link to this page.

It is important that you decide for yourself what type of financial commitment as well as time commitment you are willing to make and don't even get started until you know for sure what you can expect from yourself. Can anyone make money online by clicking a link to a page then sitting back and watching the money flow into their bank account? NO.

Where did I start?

I just decided to do it and this is what I have found. I heard about an idea to get the rights to an idea and then drive traffic to a page that is set up to sell it.

Now starting off this was perfect for me because I had been trying to think of a way of marketing myself. See I knew that what I was doing in the restaurants I worked in was worth more than what I was getting and it was because I was marketing myself the wrong way.

I was going in and saying Hey, I am a great server-bartender. Getting that job then saying look what else I can do. Talk about selling myself short. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for $2.15/hr right?

Can anyone make money online branding themselves?

I believe so. No matter who you are, you are good at something. Even if you are not good at it you must have an area of something that you know about.

I have not had anyone ask me to come and give them any help working on their training programs or training their staff but I have made money by having Google AdSense on my page because somehow I have managed to get 193 views on my page.

How did I do this? I wanted to make money online. I made a commitment to myself that I was not willing to waste anymore time. Time that I could have spent and home where I was needed, or enjoying my life which I have not done in a long time. I looked around and have gotten in at the ground level on a few things to see what the real deal was.

What have I found? Can anyone make money online?

Well I have watched tons of videos and heard of all types of ways to get in. This is where research helps. The thing that really got my wheels spinning was after the last month of thinking to myself how the hell was I going to get my life back I got an e-mail for thecoffeeshopmillionaires.com.
At this time I had done no research. I had only thought that there might be companies out there that needed someone with my skill set to come in for a bit and help them out. So I listened to their thing.
I mean I am sitting there with my best friend and I have the volume down cause I know he is going to make fun of me and call me a loser. But I had been really thinking about it and I wanted to know... Can anyone make money online? I never open shit like this either.

Well my buddy did hear what I was watching and he actually said that he had heard of it before. He said that what he heard was not that bad so we did what any responsible consumer does and we googled it.

What did I do?

Long story short I ended up getting the very basic one time $37 information package. After having him look it up and all that we decided that was the best thing.

I had to work that night so when I got home we realized that we had a product already that we could market and that was me. So we bought a web domain that night and got started.

I was so excited to put myself out there and watch the work come in. This did not happen like I said earlier. I have yet to be called to consult on any training programs. To be completely honest I did not even look at the coffee shop page for like a week after I got it.

Once I did look at their page I did find a few things that I could do to make some cash but they were not really anything I was really comfortable with and I chose not to do them.

I was contacted by them to see if I would be interested in getting free coaching. Of course I would. I had no idea what I was doing. They told me to call them when I had $1500 that I could spend on starting my business.

I am not knocking this at all. Like I said before you need to know what you are willing to put in and when you think of it $1500 really is not that much when you want to be a millionaire right.
I just really did not have it to put in so I set that idea aside and looked at what I could do. That was following up on free ad coupons through godaddy.com where I had purchased my web domain and free Facebook and Google+ profiles.

Where am I now?

Can anyone make money online? Yes. I stumbled upon another e-mail when I tried to start a list capturing service for the Empower Network. Again being a responsible consumer I googled it to make sure it was not a "scam" and I decided again to get the very basic $25/month package.
At this point I was still trying just to get a little taste of it all. To find out where in all this online money I really fit in.

I have gotten so much information for that $25. My up-link has been so helpful and has a whole extra set of training and knowledge that is right up my ally. Yes they are always talking about going all in. But they don't charge you $25 to tell you to do it. They have given me tools that I am pretty sure I will use for as long as I am doing anything that has to do with making money online.
I plan on sticking with this to see where it takes me on my journey.

A Basic Introduction to Blogging

Web logging first appeared on the net in the mid-1990s. The term "web log" was initially coined refer to a server's log file and then expanded to include the meaning of online personal journaling. Later on, to avoid confusion, the word "blog" was adopted to refer to personal journaling. Today a blog is defined as an online publication where an author puts his or her personal thoughts and opinions from the most intimate to corporate ideas, concerns or events, in chronological order on the net.

Although, there are as many kinds of blogs on line as there are people, most of these will roughly fall into these kind of bloggers: Personal Bloggers (the original use of blogging), then there are the organizational and business Bloggers.
Organizational blogs are meant to facilitate communications between its internal and external audiences. It may also provide information for the external publics' use.
Business blogs promote products or services for profit. They also increase awareness about the company, as well as establish itself as an authority with customers, vendors, through publications that demonstrate their expertise in the market.
What are the kinds of contents that readers can find in a blog that's for distribution? The authors' ideas, opinions, expertise in his/her field of work, resumes, and home recipes, pictures, streaming audio or video clips, e-books, poetry, works, products, services and consultations.
Why have blogs become very popular compared to websites or email? Most websites are infrequently updated, while blogs have instant publishing tools which permit the author to regularly update & introduce new content. Although both have great content, websites are usually impersonal in informing their audience. While blogs allow the readers to leave their comments and feedback, to hold two-conversations with the author, who usually does the publishing and can immediately respond to his/her readers.
The blogs' abilities to reach and immediately react to an expanding mass of audience have made businesses and marketers use these as a strategic marketing tool. Additionally blogs are very efficient, cheap to use and can quickly distribute information.
However, before you decide to jump on the blogging bandwagon, take time to find out what are your objectives for creating your own blog. Is it a personal, organizational or business blog? This will help you decide on what your blog will contain, where you'd place it and what publishing tools you'll be using.

How to Cash In on Blogs

Over the past year or so, more and more webmasters have been creating their own blogs (web-logs). If you don't already know, a blog is sort of an online diary which is updated at regular intervals by the author(s), and can be viewed by the public.

Blogs can have a wide variety of topics, including personal thoughts, news, sports, politics, technology, or virtually anything else you can think of. And like any other website, a blog can be used to make money.
By far the most popular way make money with your blog is to put some sort of pay-per-click text ads on it. Some companies that will pay you for doing this are Google Adsense and BidClix [http://www.bidclix.com] (MSN and Yahoo plan to launch similar programs in the near future). Depending on the topic that you choose to write about, and the current pay-per-click market conditions, your ads might make anywhere from $0.05 to $1.00 per click.
In addition to generating direct income, creating a blog can be a great way to publicize your existing websites. Simply placing a link to your site at the top of your blog can potentially bring in a nice stream of targeted visitors.

How To Sell A Million Dollars Online Using Free Blogs Only

Considering what Blogs are continuing to do for many online entrepreneurs - and especially the prosperity they have brought, it is nor surprising that the popularity of blogs continues to skyrocket by the day.

The problem is that most people have not fully woken up to the facts and despite the fact that blogs are familiar to many, they hardly realize half their potential or what they can do for them and their online businesses.
The truth is that a free blog can easily help you generate a million dollars within a short period of time.
To start with most folks still hold on to the fact that a free site cannot do much for anybody. The thinking that has prevailed, which sounds reasonable enough is that a free site is not able to portray a good enough image to attract serious bucks and serious sales. This thinking is not only outdated but also seriously flawed. To start with blogs are best used as referral tools. The job a blog does best is to refer traffic to a site, with a fully registered domain name and hosted by a reliable web host where the transaction or sale will actually take place. Secondly blogs have a super new image as places where you can get such useful valuable free information that the fact that a blog is using a free host has increasingly become irrelevant.

I know people who not only make a good living from free blogs but are well on their way to clocking that magic figure of a million dollars in sales generated with the help of their free blogs. But don't take my word for it, just go to your favorite search engine and do a search, any search and see how many free blogs appear at the top of your list of search results. If you used popular search terms then this could mean hundreds of thousands of visitors every week for many blogs. That's blog power for you, that's free blog power for you.
The purpose of this article is to give you a plan of how to generate a million dollars online using only free blogs. So let's get on with it.

To Generate Serious Cash, Image is Critical
He real reason why sites like Amazon.com took off in a hurry and raked in such obscene amounts of cash, so quickly, can be traced back to their image-building early on.
In real life the quickest way a person gains a reputation is from what others have to say about them. Human nature does not suddenly change on the web, if anything it is greatly enhanced and magnified.
In the case of Amazon, the fact that hundreds and thousands of people started writing their personal reviews of books available at Amazon.com did one key image-building job. It portrayed the site as an extremely popular and therefore useful site to head to.

Many smart online entrepreneurs have used blogs to do exactly the same thing for their sites. While everybody has been busy trying to quickly build massive links to their blogs and sites, smart entrepreneurs with exactly the same objective in mind, have started the whole exercise in a different way. The idea is to start off trying to trigger comments on your blog or site. It is unlikely that somebody will say something about your site without creating a link to it - at the very least, they will mention it's address.
One of the effective methods that many businesses large and small are using is that of paying writers and bloggers to write content that mentions their sites. Apart from this creating valuable genuine links pointing to their site, done properly it can easily trigger off a massive number of comments (and links) to the client site. Getting writers to create blogs and mention and comment on your business favorably is not as expensive an undertaking as you may think.
